Manchester City is expected to sign a new contract with Rodri “in the not-too-distant future,” securing one of their most influential players.

Rodri, a defensive midfielder, has demonstrated his importance to the team by achieving an impressive 20 goal contributions this season. This shows how complete a player he has become, leading City to prioritize a contract extension for him.

The club is reportedly willing to offer Rodri around £300,000 per week, placing him among the top earners at the club alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, and Bernardo Silva.

Manchester City sees Rodri as a future captain and integral to their future, and the player appears to be happy at the club.

While there may be some interest from Spanish giants such as Real Madrid or Barcelona, City is not too concerned about losing Rodri.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, so there is no immediate rush for an extension. However, City would welcome the extension to secure his long-term future with the club.

Rodri has been instrumental in filling the void left by Fernandinho and is expected to surpass his predecessor’s legacy at the Etihad.

His performance and influence on the team make him one of the club’s most valuable players, and it seems likely that he will remain at Manchester City for many years to come.
