Phil Foden praises Manchester City teammate’s potential

Manchester City’s Phil Foden has praised teammate Jeremy Doku, believing the Belgian winger has the potential to become even better.

Foden, who scored a hat-trick in City’s recent 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, took time to highlight Doku’s performance. Speaking to the media after the match, Foden described Doku as “frightening” and “dangerous one-on-one,” emphasizing his crucial role in defeating Villa.

Doku, signed by City in the previous summer transfer window from Rennes for £55 million, has impressed since joining the club. With 33 appearances across all competitions, he has scored four goals and provided seven assists.

In the midweek victory against Unai Emery’s side, Doku showcased his attacking prowess with 63 touches, four key passes, five successful dribbles, and two shots on target.

His statistics in the Premier League highlight his impact, leading in progressive carries, carries into the penalty area, and successful take-ons among City players.

Foden’s praise underscores the promising future ahead for Doku under Pep Guardiola’s guidance. With Foden expressing confidence in Doku’s development, City fans can anticipate exciting performances from the young winger.
