Manchester City is gearing up to initiate discussions with one of their key players, Rodri, regarding a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

After securing a victory against Crystal Palace, where Kevin De Bruyne showcased his brilliance with two goals, City is focused on maintaining their momentum in the Premier League title race.

Rodri, who has been instrumental in City’s success, is reportedly in line for an improved contract. The 27-year-old Spaniard has been in exceptional form throughout the season, solidifying his position as one of the best holding midfielders in the world.

According to reports from The Sun, City officials are planning to extend Rodri’s contract, which currently runs until 2027, by an additional two years, keeping him at the club until the age of 32.

The proposed new contract would elevate Rodri’s weekly wages from £180,000 to around £300,000, positioning him as one of the top earners at the club alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.

Rodri’s consistent performances and significant influence on the team have made him a vital asset for City. As Gary Neville recently remarked, Rodri’s impact on the team is “unbelievable,” highlighting his importance to City’s success on the pitch.

City fans are eagerly anticipating Rodri’s contract extension, recognizing his value and contribution to the team’s achievements. With no apparent interest from other clubs, it’s clear that Rodri’s price tag would deter any potential suitors, underscoring his importance to City’s midfield.

As discussions progress, City supporters remain hopeful that Rodri will commit his future to the club without hesitation, further solidifying his place as a fan favorite at the Etihad Stadium.
