Manchester City’s midfielder Bernardo Silva may leave the club this summer, but he won’t be joining Arsenal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Silva, who joined Manchester City in 2017 and has played over 340 games for the club, remains a key player in Pep Guardiola’s side. He signed a contract extension earlier this season, valid until 2026, and reportedly has a release clause set at £50 million.

Despite his new contract, Silva is said to have decided to leave Manchester City, with his agent Jorge Mendes playing a key role in securing his next move.

The Portuguese playmaker has attracted interest from major clubs like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Recent reports suggest Real Madrid is leading the race to sign Silva, while Arsenal, having successfully signed players like Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from City in the past, was also monitoring Silva’s situation closely.

However, City has decided not to allow Silva to move to Arsenal, as they don’t want him playing for a Premier League rival.

Guardiola and City are focused on managing Silva’s potential departure while ensuring he doesn’t strengthen one of their competitors in the league.

Silva’s future may lie outside the Premier League, with Barcelona and PSG presenting viable options for the talented midfielder.
