Bernardo Silva reaches decision on Man City future after making very important request

Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva has reportedly made the decision to leave the Premier League champions this summer and join Barcelona.

The 29-year-old Portuguese star has been speaking with his national team-mate Joao Felix about life at Barcelona and is keen to wear the iconic No.10 shirt, previously worn by Lionel Messi.

Silva’s move to Barcelona was a possibility in previous transfer windows, with speculation surrounding the move intensifying last summer. Although Silva signed an extension with City until 2026 in August, his contract includes a £50 million release clause.

The decision to leave City and join Barcelona comes after Silva made 42 appearances this season. Barcelona boss Xavi reportedly held direct talks with Silva a year ago, but the move did not materialize at that time. Silva’s eagerness to join Barcelona and play alongside his fellow Portuguese stars, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, could be an influencing factor in his decision.

City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly agreed not to stand in Silva’s way if he decides to leave after seven years at the club. Silva’s departure would be a significant loss for Manchester City, but the move could offer him a new challenge and the chance to fulfill his ambition of playing for Barcelona
