£100m Man City star on £2bn Saudi Pro League shortlist featuring Man Utd trio and Chelsea wantaway

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is among the high-profile players being targeted by the Saudi Pro League for the upcoming summer transfer window. The league is reportedly aiming to sign five to six marquee names with an allocated budget of £2 billion.

De Bruyne, whose City contract expires in 2025, is on the radar of the Saudi league despite providing no indication that he wants to leave Manchester City or move to Saudi Arabia. The clubs are prepared to offer substantial transfer fees and bonuses to lure top players.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported that the Saudi clubs are optimistic about securing other big names, including Manchester United’s Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Casemiro. Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, Luka Modric, and Alvaro Morata are also among the targets.

De Bruyne is just one of several players the Saudi Pro League aims to attract, along with names like Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma from West Ham and Nelson Semedo from Wolves. Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri are also potential targets.

While City may not have a specific price in mind for selling De Bruyne, Saudi clubs reportedly believe that an offer of £100 million or more with significant bonuses may be necessary if they gain player buy-in. Nevertheless, De Bruyne’s current preference seems to be staying with Manchester City
